The Catholic Church in the United States is organized under the 501C3 IRS code.  This allows donations to all qualifying Catholic Institutions (schools, parishes, hospitals, universities, etc.) to be tax deductible.  This code requires strict adherence to election campaign restrictions on all Catholic properties.  The properties of all Catholic institutions are private.  Soliciting on behalf or against any political party or candidate is strictly forbidden to include the inviting of any speakers. Flyers may not be placed on cars in the parking lot, ads may not be on fences, buildings, bulletin boards, etc.

Any solicitation that is not political in nature requires the specific permission of the bishop and the pastor.

Catholics have a moral obligation to participate in the democratic process by becoming well informed on the issues, voting, coming forward as political candidates and consulting sound Catholic teaching as can be found on the parish website at cibolacatholiccommunity.com or at the USCCB website at http://www.usccb.org/issues-and-action/faithful-citizenship/.
